Big thanks to Morton Young and Borland for helping out the Guides

After cruel vandals broke into the Newmilns Guide hall twice in one week, tradtional local lacemakers Morton Young and Borland have donated a security gate and shutters to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Newmilns' only remaining lace factory stepped in after the committee spent a whole weekend clearing up after the first vandal attack on the Glebe Road premises - only to have it happen again.

It's a lovely gesture from a long-standing local company - Morton Young and Borland have been making textiles locally for more than a century.

And it made sure that the Guides Brownies and Rainbows could start their new session last week.
