The Loudoun Arms, Newmilns
It is thought that the Loudoun Arms dates from the early 18th century, its architecture is typical of that period with a corbie gable and pedimented windows,on the east side of the building is the remnant of an attached archway, this can still be seen. It was in an upper room in this building that Robert Burns was made an honorary member of Lodge Kilwinning Newmilns 51 on 17th March 1786, at his own request. Gavin Hamilton of "Holy Wullies Prayer" fame was Master of the Lodge at that time.
