An article in s1 newmilns reports on the
celebration of 80 years of The Cabin, the
attached copy of an article in the Irvine
Valley News of March 28th 1930 reports on
the official recognition of The Cabin in 1930.
A dedicatory prayer was offered by The Rev.
Roderick Bethune of Loudoun East Church.
Mr Robert Mitchell president of the Cabin
Committee took charge of the Order of
Service. The ladies of The Co-Operative
Womens Guild were particularly thanked
for their fund raising efforts as were the local
Town Council for their support. 70 members
of The Cabin were present at the reception.
The Benediction was given by The Rev. J.G.
McLeod Thomson BD. The reception was
held in the Co-Operative Hall where various
artists performed, a memorable start to this
valuable service to the town of Newmilns,
we wish them well.
